Welcome to the April 2008 North Devon Riding Club Newsletter. It doesn’t seem five minutes ago I was wishing you all a happy new year and here we are Easter has been and gone, and those lighter evening are showing us that summer is almost with us once more. The wet weather and muddy fields will soon be a distant memory when we are out riding at 8pm on our way to the local watering hole. I am glad to see the weather has not deterred that many of you and you were out enjoying the Easter Egg Treasure hunt and the Parracombe ride earlier in March. We have plenty more enjoyable things to do get you and your steed out and about this year, so keep an eye on the pin up pages to see what is coming up soon. I however will have my feet firmly on the ground this summer with a baby due in July; I had a reality check on just how dangerous horses are, (and how stupid we owners can be at times). I had a very embarrassing moment where getting ready to go for a gentle hack I threw my leg up to get on my 17.2hh warmblood, caught my leg in my leg strap on my riding coat and fell over the other side onto the road, whilst my horse thought we were off and had carried on walking .....

Summer Dressage Open Show on 13th July Competition


  • Walk Trot Test 2 & 3
  • Prelim 10 & 18
  • Novice 25 & 32
  • Elementary 41

Come and join in the Sizzling Sensation at this Summers Open Dressage Competition. You have plenty of time to fine tune or rewrite your horses paces, practice those circles and straight lines between now and July, so put your name down now and set yourself a challenge, remember we have Walk and Trot for beginners up to Elementary so whatever your level there will be something there for you to enjoy. All entries to Sarah Wilson, Times will be available on Friday 11th July between 7 and 8pm, See Schedule attached for further details.
